1. Introduction
Uplo (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a platform that allows freelancers to deliver digital projects to clients through a structured timeline system. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use https://uplo.cloud.
If you have any questions, contact us at support@uplo.cloud.
2. Data We Collect
We only collect data necessary to operate Uplo.
Account Information
Name, email address, business name (optional), and password (hashed via Supabase).
Client Information
Client name, client email, and project details provided by the freelancer.
Project & Upload Data
Freelancers and clients may upload images, videos, branding assets, project files, timeline items, and delivery files.
We do not collect or request sensitive personal data such as IDs, passports, medical information, or financial documents.
Invoice Data
Invoices generated through Uplo include freelancer name, freelancer email, business name, client name, client email, price paid, and description of work.
Payment Information
We do not store payment card details. All payments and payouts are handled by Stripe and Stripe Connect.
Security Data
To protect our platform, we use Google reCAPTCHA, which may collect IP address, browser information, device information, and interaction patterns.
This is strictly for security and fraud prevention.
Internal Analytics
We collect internal usage analytics such as timeline activity, project progress, freelancer earnings, and messaging activity.
We do not use external analytics (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.).
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to create and manage your account, allow freelancers to build project timelines, allow clients to view project progress, process payments and payouts, generate invoices, store and deliver project files, secure the platform, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
4. Legal Basis (GDPR)
We process data under contractual necessity, legitimate interest, and consent.
Consent applies when you create an account and agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
5. Storage & Security
Your data is stored using Supabase, Cloudflare R2, and Stripe.
We use encryption, access controls, and secure processing pipelines.
6. Content Ownership
Freelancers retain full ownership of all content they upload.
By uploading content, freelancers grant Uplo a temporary licence to store, process, watermark, generate previews, and deliver files to clients.
This licence ends when the content is deleted or the account is closed.
7. Final Delivery Files
Once a client pays the agreed amount, the client receives ownership rights to the delivered files.
Uplo may archive or remove files after a long retention period.
8. Age Requirements
Freelancers must be 18+ (required by Stripe for payouts).
Clients may be 16+, but parental consent may be required under GDPR.
9. Prohibited Content
Users may not upload illegal content under UK law, harmful or abusive content, malware, fraudulent material, copyrighted content without rights, explicit content involving minors, or explicit content without full consent of participants.
Explicit content is allowed only if all participants are consenting adults.
10. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to operate Uplo or comply with legal obligations.
Project files may be removed after long-term archival.
11. Free Tools (Watermark Utilities)
Uplo also provides public free watermark tools for images, videos, and PDF files that are separate from client portals and dashboard workspaces.
Files uploaded through free tools are processed temporarily, limited to 3 total files per IP address per day, and are automatically deleted after approximately 1 hour.
Free tool uploads are not added to freelancer/client portal storage and are treated as temporary processing assets only.
12. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, request deletion, request portability, and object to processing.
Freelancers can delete their account directly. Clients may request deletion via support@uplo.cloud.
